Dr. Katherine Elder
PhD, Licensed Psychologist, LPCMH
Dr. Elder has practiced in the behavioral health field for 15 years, serving adults, couples, children, youth and their families. Areas of specialization include: depression, anxiety, co-occurring disorders, eating disorders, parent-child relationships, ADHD, severe behavioral challenges in children and issues related to teen development. She is certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy as well as a Level 1 Trainer. Dr. Elder provides consultation to organizations and professional training in topics related to personalities, ethics, trauma, substance abuse and working with resistant clients. Dr. Elder has expertise in a variety evidenced-based practices. She also provides psychological evaluations for bariatric surgery, court-ordered assessments such as child custody evaluations, and academic concerns. Dr. Elder is also trained as a parent coordinator for high conflict co-parenting cases. She can also assist with therapeutic reunification cases when there is an estranged parent-child relationship. Dr. Elder is a fitness and health enthusiast, loves children and her golden-doodle Charlie (our therapy dog).

Jim has held a variety of clinical and administrative positions in both the private, public, and education sectors. He has been a trained practitioner in EMDR since 2017 and specializes in the treatment of substance use disorders. Jim has presented as a subject matter expert on numerous national platforms. As a private consultant, Jim was hired by Bermuda’s Department for National Drug Control to help address the island nation’s problems with drugs and crime. Additionally, he has worked with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Colorado Department of Corrections, Florida Department of Corrections, Delaware Guidance Services, Inc., Prevention of Child Abuse in Delaware, and the Delaware Division of Prevention and Behavioral Health. Areas of specialization include: treatment of substance use disorders, EMDR, re-entry focused community corrections programs and trainings, veterans' trauma and recovery. On weekends Jim enjoys surfing, swimming, and yoga.

Dr. Nathan Centers

Dr. Centers is a board-certified physiatrist with over 40 years of experience in the medical field. Dr. Centers specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness through psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, and medication. Dr. Centers has extensive experience in both public and private inpatient and outpatient settings
Jennifer enjoys helping adults with the challenges that arise as they seek their own identity and make their way through life stages. She also enjoys working with people in relationships and families. Areas of specialization: depression, grief, anxiety, communication, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, relationship problems, self-esteem and more. Jenn believes the most important part of therapy is creating an atmosphere where her client feels unconditionally cared for, accepted without judgement, understood, and safe to share their innermost struggles. She commonly utilizes CBT and Rogerian principles, but is constantly learning about new techniques and theories.

Mattie utilizes a holistic approach to therapy, utilizing CBT and Mindfulness techniques. Alisha’s expertise is in the field of child development. She is a certified therapist in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Children and Adolescents (TF-CBT).
Areas of specialization: working with children with autism, developmental delays, anxiety, depression, and social and communication disorders. Alisha draws upon various evidence supported therapies and strategies to help children reach their highest potential.
Katie enjoys working with children, teens, and adults.
Areas of specialization: anxiety, depression, trauma and EMDR, attachment, parenting support, supervision, working with LGBTQ populations, pregnancy and postpartum issues, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing with a certificate in Child and Family Services. Katie has incorporated Internal Family Systems into treatment when needed. Most recently, Katie has completed training in Clinical Supervision.
Shaniqua takes great interest in utilizing the performing arts to support healing complex trauma. She enjoys providing counseling services to adults, children, couples, and families.

Paula, a board certified addiction counselor, enjoys working with clients of all ages. She has practiced meditation for over 10 years.

grief, anxiety, depression and Bipolar disorder. When working with clients who struggle with addiction Paula believes in a baseline of guidance and support in their recovery. She has worked with children and teens diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, OCD, Autism spectrum disorder, learning difficulties, anxiety, and depression.
Deanna has worked as nurse primarily in Sub-Acute, Acute, and Correctional environments. Areas of specialization: she practices with a holistic approach to mental, physical, and spiritual health and advocates good nutrition, exercise and stress management to attain health goals. Interests include photography, yoga, music, running and travel.

It is her goal to address clients as whole, complete beings and to meet them where they are in their wellness journeys.
Catherine Devaney McKay
MS, LMFT, LCDP, ICAADC
Catherine specializes in work with individuals, children and families living with diverse mental health needs including trauma, substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, and relational problems in families and couples. Cathy is trained in Trauma Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy and other evidence-based approaches in the treatment of children and families who have experienced trauma and/or serious substance use, including opioid use disorder.
Brandy is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), a psychotherapy approach to helping children deal with emotional and behavioral difficulties from experiencing traumatic life events such as child abuse, sexual assault, or death. She has experience working with families in domestic violence. Areas of specialization: various traumas, ADHD, domestic violence, teen dating violence, and school-based counseling.
Carmen's approach is integrative and holistic, working from a Trauma-Informed lens and drawing from CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Attachment and Family Systems Theories while incorporating mindfulness and meditation. She serves adults, youth, children, couples, families, and LGBTQ. Areas of specialization:
mood disorders, depression, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders, sexual dysfunction, anger and stress management, substance use, co-occurring disorders, and grief. Being client-centered, each therapy session is directly tailored to that individual client, as she feels there is no “one size fits all” therapeutic model.
Dr. David Rindler
PhD, Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Rindler is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who has practiced in the Lewes – Rehoboth Beach area since 1992. He also has had a private psychotherapy practice in Potomac, Maryland. His specialties are substance abuse, relationships, anxiety, marital separation, and self-esteem issues. Dr. Rindler provides individual psychotherapy, couples and partner counseling, and parent consultation.
Lisa works with clients in a holistic way, encouraging, and supporting clients in achieving their personal goals. She has worked in different levels of care including inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient. Lisa utilizes motivational interviewing to assist clients in clarifying and then achieving their treatment goals. She is passionate about treating process addictions and has success in helping people achieve balance in their lives again. Areas of specialization: meditation techniques can be included to assist with the management of various symptoms.
Jaimie holds her Advanced Certification in addictions. With over 9 years experience in Adult, Addictions, Correctional, and Outpatient Psychiatry, as well as Community Psychiatry, she began her healthcare career at Johns Hopkins Hospital working on an acute Psychiatric/Medical unit treating severely mentally ill, dual diagnosis, as well as geriatric patients. Jaimie is committed to treating the mind, body, and spirit of her patients. Jaimie is available for medication consultations, pharmacological evaluations, and medication management for adults 18 years and older.
Dr. Mathew Turley
Dr. Turley, a Licensed Professional Counselor, specializes in work with individuals, children, and families living with diverse mental health needs including: trauma, inappropriate sexualized behaviors, depression and anxiety disorders, ADHD and related learning needs, spirituality-based addiction recovery, Asperger's Disorder, and the blended family experience.
Karin M. Westermann
Karin offers a holistic approach, brief-solution therapy, and inner child work. She has enjoyed her work as a substance abuse counselor, along with working with the LGBQ population, and other adults. Karin volunteered at a halfway house in Morristown, NJ, and was voted in as a member of their Board of Directors. Karin was Chairperson of the State of New Jersey’s human rights committee for six years, and a State represented Liaison between Greystone Psychiatric Hospital and the State of New Jersey.
Jessica earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Areas of specialization: working with children, teens, adults, and families in both individual and group therapy settings. Jessica works from social justice and trauma informed frameworks. She believes that client empowerment and support are important in the journey to wellness.
Dr. Lauren Wisely
PsyD, Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Wisely works primarily from a CBT perspective, with over fifteen years of experience providing psychotherapy services. In addition, Dr. Wisely also has extensive DBT and trauma treatment experience with teens and adults. For the past few years she has primarily focused on her outpatient psychotherapy practice working with adults, children, and adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, impulsivity, and high conflict relationships.
Julia has worked primarily in school-based therapeutic settings and has experience working with students with special needs, adolescents, and their families. She is passionate about providing counseling services to children & adolescents, adults, couples, and families who may be struggling in areas such as grief, trauma, depression, and anxiety. Julia utilizes a holistic approach as well as person-centered therapy and motivational interviewing in order to support individuals in their capacity and desire for personal growth and change.
Mya has provided therapy within school settings, and assisted behavioral interventionists with Individual Education Plans, 504, and behavioral treatment plans.
Her specialties include: psychiatric diagnoses (Bipolar 1&2, Schizoaffective disorder, Major Depressive Disorder), working with children, youth and their families, understanding/coping with Autism Syndrome Disorder, the geriatric population, anxiety, depression, stages of grief, and stages of change (substance abuse disorders). Myas' goal is to provide psychoeducation regarding mental health diagnoses, enrich, encourage, and to empower clients to identify their strengths, and to improve their quality of life from a holistic perspective.
Meredith has worked with culturally diverse populations of all ages. Areas of specialization: trauma, abuse and neglect; parenting and caregiver issues; substance abuse and harm reduction; women’s issues and reproductive health; self-esteem; adjustment and coping with change and/or with chronic and terminal illness; anxiety, depression, mood and personality disorders; grief and bereavement. Her approach is integrative, multi-cultural, person-centered and strengths-based. Meredith uses CBT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness/guided imagery, and practical solution-focused therapies. She honors the interconnection of mind-body-spirit within the context of each person’s unique situation, environment, and history.
John has been a Clinical Team Leader for Child Guidance, a Clinical Social Worker for Jewish Family Services, a Behaviorist for Benhaven Inc., and A Behavior Specialist for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. In each capacity he worked with children, adults, groups and families dealing with a wide variety of mental health issues. After several years in the field, Mr. Byrne believes that people can and do change in ways they wish with the help of some hard work and a good therapist. Being new to Delaware, Mr. Byrne spends most of his time with his wife and dog, trying new restaurants and discovering new beaches.

Charlie enjoys working with all of our clients, but especially children and adolescents. He can often be found in Dr. Katie Elder's office, or will greet you at the door with a big wag of his tail. He loves meeting new people and understands his obligation of complete confidentiality. He is currently taking on new patients, with preference to those who give him treats.
